Human Body’s Movement: a Lens toRead Space.
Investigation on choreography as a practice to interpret and inform the design of urban public space in the contemporary Chinese city

Tutor: Michele Bonino
Co-tutor: Zhang Li (Tsinghua University)

The research investigates the relationship between human body and the urban public spaces of the contemporary Chinese city, where human’s embodied experience is increasingly flattened.
Although in western culture, architecture has been primarily addressed in its permanence and stability, by means of an interdisciplinary approach, the thesis aims at giving a new attention to the moving body in the design of space. It takes advantage of the tools of dance and choreography as disciplines that focus on the kinaesthetic dimension.
