The Public Burden
Tutor: Filippo De Pieri
In order to deal with the widespread and multifaceted crisis of 20thcentury public housing estates, European countries have developed a number of policies and practices targeted at those identified as deprived districts. Through the analysis of three case studies located in Turin, Orly and Edinburgh the research intends to question the long-term impacts of the so-called area-based policies, formalised and diffused in the 90’s also through UE networks and programmes, and appearing today an outdated season.
Caterina Quaglio graduated in architecture in Italy in 2015, spending two years abroad for exchange programs in in Brussels and Madrid.
