Gentrification, affluent newcomers – oriented process of transformation of an urban area, is attributed as one of the leading roles in reshaping the socio-economic profile of the neighborhoods. This is plausibly translating into fluctuating socio-economic geographies in city-wide occurring whereby the built environment. The research aims to reveal; the spatial pattern of gentrification on a larger scale, articulate its solid relation with the urban form and detect substantial transformations in the city’s urban asset induced by the phenomena on a smaller one.

Bio

Zeynep Tulumen was born and raised in Istanbul, later she moved to Turin for her studies. She graduated in Architecture Construction City Master’s Degree with honours with a final dissertation which dealt with the immigration phenomena. During the Master’ Degree, she attended to ASP Programme where she took part in multidisciplinary projects, together with engineers and designers, awarded with the double degree at Politecnico di Milano. Currently, she is undertaking research on the relation between urban morphology and urban economics.
