Pristhinalisi. Design Practice as a Tool to Stress Regulatory Framework in a Postwar State-Building Context
Tutor: Alessandro Armando
Co-tutor: Giovanni Durbiano
The research investigates the relation between design practice and political-regulatory framework in the long-term postwar period in Prishtina. Through the observation of different case studies, completed and ongoing projects, the local urban development is analyzed, shifting the attention from the merely morphological and physical aspects to the complex ecology of design practice. The aim of the work is to inquire how architecture could become a tool capable of questioning and affecting the existing political-regulatory framework on urban transformations, which is still being redefined in the Kosovo’s capital.
