I particularly appreciated the idea and importance that Lidia Gasperoni gave to the concept of “connection.” It immediately brought to my memory the post-Kantian philosophy of Friedrich Schelling, according to whom the only means of connection with the Absolute was precisely art: in it subject and object merge and influence each other, one is affected by the other. In different, perhaps forced, terms, but the speaker’s speech echoes this concept: she did, in fact, emphasize the importance and need to find a new pro-active, as well as assertive, approach to knowledge of what surrounds us. The need to struggle a passivity, which often marks human behavior, in favor of a search for connection to that which influences architectural practice, influencing it in turn and ensuring that we can grasp and fully enjoy the pleasure of discipline (Schelling’s Absolute). This, as she also reiterates, is among the most important challenges of our time.

This lecture made me think about the joy of practice that is so often lost upon it. Interesting to me points were the address to rethink materiality of architecture, as well as form – reminder that architecture is not an artifact (as it is often shown in photos -empty, un-populated). It could be interesting to explore alternative ways for design, to achieve form through media and to find ways of practice through generative joy, which the speaker talked about.

I found very interesting the conference of the guest Lidia Gasperoni because she addressed some aspects of the role of the architect, both from the point of view of perception and design in a new key. Asking questions about the role in society, in the city, but also in disseminating its knowledge and vision of architecture within university environments, accompanied by research. In particular architecture as a product of the project in which you can not only take into account the part of the design but a series of circumstances that are at the boundary and contribute to the development of the latter.
The figure who deals with this aspect is mainly the environmental architect.

Lidia Gasperoni’s speech refers in part to the fundamental concepts of Gio Ponti’s book, already discussed during the cycle of lectures, to contextualize the principle of love for architecture in what can be defined as a “revolution”, or “crisis” of the way of designing during the Anthropocene. The guest underlined the need for a review of architectural practices and their relationship with the environment, in order to express an invitation to discover what the potential future of the architect as a professional figure may represent. This type of ideological transition can only take place through the exploration of new experimental approaches, especially in the design phase, trying to develop not only new specific techniques related to the site in which we operate but also to consciously extend the semantic field of our discipline through a careful and passionate case-by-case study.

The lecture by Lidia Gasperoni has been very interesting to rethink the role of the architect and the architecture in a critical way. The way a building is designed has
consequences not only on the building itself, but on the evironment and the peolple which have to coexist with the project too. I think that this is a crucial starter point to think about the need of having developing and alternative methods of design.

Lidia Gasperoni’s conference sparked interest in reevaluation of architecture’s materiality and form, emphasizing the need for a proactive and assertive approach to understanding our surroundings. It highlighted the importance of finding joy in architectural practice and exploring alternative design process. Overall, Gasperoni discussed the architect’s role in today world, which should deal not only with the build itself but also with other factors such as society and other circumstances.

Lidia Gasperoni gave an interesting conference about the role of architects, where she discussed perception, design, and their evolving meanings. She raised important questions about the impact of architects on society and cities and how they share their knowledge through research in universities. Gasperoni highlighted that architecture goes beyond design and involves various factors that contribute to its development. In this context, environmental architects play a crucial role in considering these factors. Gasperoni emphasized the significance of connecting with the influences that shape architecture.

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture was interesting as she emphasized the importance of taking an active and confident stance in comprehending our environment and searching for a link to the factors that shape architectural practice. It could be one of the reasons to love architecture. Also, the idea of envisioning a design studio that encourages exploration across various media formats was intriguing. The lecture introduced a fresh perspective on architectural design, viewing it as a dynamic fusion of different mediums, which was demonstrated through concrete examples. It was a new concept for me that I didn’t think about before.

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture on the role of architects and the concept of “connection” in architecture. She emphasized the importance of connecting with the influences that shape architectural practice, moving away from passivity towards a proactive and assertive approach, she also mentioned Friedrich Schelling’s philosophy, where art serves as a means of connecting with the Absolute.she talked about the role of architects in society, cities, and universities, emphasizing the multidimensional nature of architecture beyond design which was interesting to me. Environmental architects are highlighted as key figures in considering the various factors that contribute to architecture’s development.her lecture prompts a critical rethinking of the architect’s role and the need for alternative design methods that consider the impact on the environment and people.

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture was interesting. Gasperoni presents a conception of architectural design as a hybrid interplay of media, which will be made visible through tangible practices. This approach emphasizes the role of architecture in addressing the challenges of the Anthropocene and creating a more sustainable future.Architects must be able to work with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and private developers, to design buildings and spaces that meet the needs of the people who will use them. They must also be knowledgeable about the latest technologies and materials that can be used to improve the sustainability and efficiency of buildings.

Lidia Gasperoni’s presentation was wonderful, on the topic of “Media of Transition”, and very interesting. To overcome ordinary creative processes of form-finding, a shift from form to knowledge is required to repositioning design as generative inquire. Architectural design as generative inquire has the potential to offer a viable contribution to contemporary change sensing and transforming the human impact on earth. This viewpoint opened up my mind to the exploration of architectural forms. Architectural design can start by looking at other matters and media, and architectural form may be more free.

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture was very interesting, the way it is highlighted that architecture does not only dwell on the design but also on the fact that other factors take over its development. The way it comes into being has consequences on the whole surroundings and gives a rule to it. It is important for this not only a part of the project must be considered, but also a number of borderline cases that contribute to its development. In conclusion, the role of the architect must be able to dialogue with different types of figures so that he or she can create buildings that always better meet the ‘needs of those who will then live those places.

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture which is called “Media of Transition” was quite interesting. It was interesting to see how “connection” idea can affect the architecture concept. It was mentioned that there are some challanges while finding a concept and designing process in architecture. I think it was very thoughtful while the designing process. Challanges could bein every section of the project such as environmental, dealing and designing for effective architecture, concept of shaping and care of the build environment. Also, anthropocene challanges and transformations is very effective relationship for the environment and the question of how repositon architectural design need to transform and extend architectural agency (theory, practice and profession). All of these process can have impact in society and cities so architects need to share their knowledge at research universities with working stakeholders, government officials etc. Also, there were some quotes that “architecture is a pure art”, “Empty is an art effect” so it is a great thougthful ideas to consider while designing.

The lecture’s focus on producing architecture from a place of “love” and “enjoyment” was intriguing to me particularly given the context of architecture’s role in the anthropocene, and its potentially detrimental ramifications. Alluding once more to Gio Ponti’s work, it is through this adoration of architecture that one can find the impetus to fully envision all aspects (including environmental implications) of a given work, becoming a fully considered and holistic “passion project” – perhaps an updated conception of Gesamtkunstwerk. In light of contemporary challenges, such a new conception, while consciously considering wider environmental implications, should de-emphasize prioritising total control over form in favour of working with existing objects and materials as new “media of transition”.

Lidia Gasperoni spoke about how architecture is experienced from the materials and how through the transformation of these reflections and contradictions are generated. Lastly, as a reflection, it can be said that the relationships between humans and the environment are important as environmental models and that This can be the starting point to arrive at the construction of a building in the environment.

I found the lecture given by Lidia Gasperoni very interesting, especially found useful the insight into Gio Ponti’s architectural thought and the need to rediscover the connection with architecture or design action. It is true that today’s architectural society is very much influenced by the media, I find a similarity in this and in the way students’ architectural practice often falls back to that is the ‘use of references. Has everything already been built? Are there other ways to use certain materials? How do we free ourselves in design practice from norms and notions that have been imposed on our thinking by years and years of study? Perhaps an answer and a new method of building can be found through the rediscovery of the technique of “self-building” which to date is used purely for makeshift constructions. maybe, to rediscover architecture and its elements we should start from the basic principle, from Vitruvius’ “hut” .

Lidia Gasperoni’s lecture questions the role of the architect, from a design perspective. Giving us ideas on how we can improve from a design point of view, taking into account not only architectural practices but also the relationship that each project has with the environment around it.
The lecture directed us to think about using a different perspective on design, and alternative methods that can improve the way we design, and especially help us use sustainable methods to safeguard the environment.
